In the Novembers issue of Model Art they start as usual with the special feature. This months special feature is on weathering techniques and painting of aircraft. The article starts of with Tamiya's beautiful 1/32 F4U-1 Corsair. With this model they incorporate post shading, exhaust staining and fuel stains. The next model is the Hasegawa 1/48th A6M2b Type 21 "Junyo Fighter group". This aircraft was originally finished in IJN gray but then was over sprayed with one of the greens that Japan used during the war leaving a blotchy finish. They show you how to achieve this in this section. Next up is the Tamiya 1/48 Spitfire Mk.1. This section covers chipping, masking and some general weathering. Zvezda Yak-3 1/48th is used next. This section deals with general weathering and details of the kit. The next section covers dust. They use the Eduard 1/48th Bf-109E-7 Trop for this demonstration. The last next article uses the Hasegawa 1/48 Henchel 129B-2 "Winter Camouflage". Here they show you how to apply a hand applied winter camouflage using a brush. They conclude with the Tamiya 1/48 Mosquito NF Mk.II & British light utility car. This aircraft is finished in the dreaded all black paint scheme. They show how to make the model not look so and how to make the decals stand out.

Following the special feature are a few short articles that run every month. One is about a Japanese modeler. The next is a model ship article. This months ship is the IJN Battleship Kongo. Then you have the MA Event Report. This covers modern day JGSDF, JASDF and JMSDF subjects. The next of these short articles is Modeling the JASDF. This month they cover decals for 1/144th scale F-104J, T-33A and F-86D. The decals are produced by MYK Design Decals. They can be located here : http://www.myk-design.com/tank/ . The last article is the I.J.A/N. Airplane Illustrated. This consists of mostly color drawings and few pictures of sighting devices.

There is a special article that covers the release of the Hasegawa 1/72 MV-22B "Osprey. This covers the model with both sets of decal options and includes photos from a walkaround.

New Kit Review is up next. This month they feature four kits. The kits featured are the Hobby Boss 1/48th F-80A. Ebbro 1/20th Team Lotus type 49 (1967), Tamiya 1/700th DD142 Hammann and the Academy 1/35th German Light Tank Pz. Kpfw.35 (t)

Last up is Neo Historic Garage. This is also a monthly reoccurring article feature of mainly late 80's to early 90's cars. This months model is an interesting one. The kit used is the Tamiya 1/24th Toyota Hiace Quick Delivery. This has decals for making a Tamiya delivery van even though the pictures for the article has marked as a Model Art delivery van.

The rest of the magazine covers future kit releases, decals, aftermarket parts and ads for hobby shops.

In closing. I feel that these are great magazines. Yes they may be in Japanese, but the photography is awesome. I have also discovered a translator app that I can use. There is a loss of translation but you can get the point.

I would like to thank Model Art and IPMS/USA for the opportunity to review this magazine.
