I'm the rookie on the reviewer corps, and I was beginning to think that we rookies get the difficult assignments in order to weed us out. Not so this time. I received the Eduard Wildflowers and Butterflies today, and have already used them and I like them. Don't worry the review is not going to be that short.

First of all, let's start with what you get in the package. You get several sizes of wildflowers in various colors that are pre-painted. There are some red ones, some yellow ones and some blue ones. If you look at the picture of the close-up you can see how well done they are, and how neat they look. The flowers can be bent, which allows them to conform to your specific terrain. Even though these are 1/35, they can be used for 1/48 as well. I placed a yellow one on a base to show you how easy they are to use. Honestly it took me a few minutes to bend the leaves and glue it to my base. Of course, one is never enough so I will have to use more. It is a good thing you get plenty of each variety.

Even more impressive are the tiny little butterflies. They are so neat looking, I stuck one on my vignette (see the picture of the broken green window frame). The butterfly is the tiny yellow and black thing sitting there towards the end. With the naked eye it takes a few seconds to notice it and what it is, but with my magnifying glass I have to say these honestly look awesome. I am not sure how they get such colors and details on the wings. It is mind-blowing. I brought this vignette to Omaha; hope you had a closer look at the butterfly.

Now for the bad part ... the price. These are pretty expensive. Retail is $26.99 on them. I have seen them cost between $22 to $27 depending on where you look. This might be a deterrent for some.

Personally, I like the look of them and the ease of use. If you have the extra money, they would be a neat addition to your diorama stockpile.

I want to thank IPMS/USA, and especially Eduard for this review copy.
