Thank you to the Eduard Company for sending this detail set for review, it is always a pleasure to see what your new products bring to the scale modeling world. Thank you also to the IPMS Reviewer Corps staff members who do the hard work in getting us modeling products to review, the reviews posted, and the news spread to the world.

The photoetch frets arrived in excellent shape in a sealed plastic package with the distinctive Eduard knight logo. The cockpit fret is polished metal with finely-etch parts to enhance the wheel wells, the gun chutes, gear struts, and a few subtle external details. A color instruction sheet is included in the package, and Eduard has the same instruction sheet available for download on the company product page. I really appreciate having the electronic PDF format to mark up on my computer, not to mention the ability to easily enlarge for my aging eyeballs. The target Revell kit modifications are indicated on the instructions, and I had no difficulties at all building up the larger PE parts and attaching them to the kit. Eduard has well-placed and designed fold lines to assist with the build-ups. The etched fold line helped very much with precise folding although I found the smaller parts a bit tricky to manage. Make sure you have good light, magnification, sharp edged tools, and patience. The parts are very finely etched. You get one chance to fold them up correctly. No do-overs I discovered!

The biggest challenges I faced related to planning and modifying the kit. I had to push my skill set envelope. If you are using any or all of the Eduard PE sets for the Revell kit, taking the time to understand how the part sets interface with each other in the general assembly sequence is well worth it. This comment is NOT a criticism! There is a lot of detail in this set and not all detail appears, depending on how you choose to configure the completed kit. A good set of reference materials will be very helpful to assist with planning and construction.

The instructions do not indicate removal of the rough boxes on the kit gun platform for locating PE part 42. I did remove the kit boxes and the PE parts fit right in. I did a similar kit modification on the inside of the wheel well so PE parts 32 and 33 would lie flat. Installation of the delicate wires, hose and lines did not happen until post-painting final assembly whenever possible.

I highly recommend this set for the intermediate to advanced model, because of the exquisite intricacy of the parts and the required planning. Thank you again Eduard and the IPMS Reviewer Corps!
