This kit is a re-boxing of an earlier kit, with a photo etch fret, vinyl tracks, and decals. According to the website: "Cyber-Hobby is well known for its fantastic Orange Box tank and figure set combos in 1/35 scale. These special sets provide updated Dragon kits that have not been available for some time and at competitive prices."

Detail is excellent for this scale, and goes together without any glitches. You get decals for 3 tanks dated 1944-1945 located in Andler, the Eastern Front, and Germany. 2 tanks are three tone camo, one is two tone. The kit went together without a glitch, there's only 8 total steps:

  • The instructions show numerous parts glued in place, C53, C54, for example, so check the instructions closely.
  • The gun mount moves vertically when attached to the turret. I found the fit was not flush to the turret, and instead I glued the gun mount directly to the turret.
  • Be careful with the photo etch, the 4 pieces consist of screens that can easily be bent out of shape, due to their fragile shapes.
  • I had a couple of small gaps in the right rear deck and where the rear deck meets the rear side.
  • The vinyl tracks were easy to use, I had to cut off about 4 links before I glued the ends together.
  • Paint: I used dark grey auto primer for the tracks and then hand brushed Polly Scale oily black. The body was sprayed FS30277 Armor Sand, and I hand painted FS34086 green drab. Finally, I oversprayed the Armor Sand to tone down the effect.

Thanks to Dragon Models and IPMS USA for the opportunity to build and review this model.
